Makagui: What does it mean?
Makagui is a project linked to areas of entrepreneurship, leadership and financial intelligence. Designed and developed by himself, Daniel David, CEO and President of DHD Holding and the SOICO group, explains the brand concept and vision of the project for the future.
WHAT IS THE MAKAGUI PROJECT?
Makagui is an innovative and disruptive and very special project, especially for me, because it is inspired by my personal path. Makagui will be based on my testimony and knowledge. Those who were my mistakes and failures, and how I managed to overcome them and get here. I want to pass my knowledge and experience, for help others, especially the younger, not to make the same mistakes.
WHAT DOES MAKAGUI MEAN?
The word Makagui comes from the Chope language, from the province of Inhambane, in the south of Mozambique and means brother, or brother in English. Makagui is a brother, a confidant of all times. Someone with whom we share our life, and who transcends the blood relationship. Makagui is a brother at heart, with whom we share intimacy, good times and bad.
I chose this name because it inspired me in my personal life, in my trajectory. My experience has given me many Makaguis, with whom I have shared and continue to share, the special moments of my life.
WHO IS THIS PROJECT FOR?
We are communicating clearly to a younger audience, because the majority of the Mozambican population is made up of them, but also because the future is theirs. With that in mind, this project is geared towards meeting the needs of a wide audience, which does not necessarily need to be young, but which brings together some characteristics, such as ambition, proactivity and which seeks financial freedom.
WHAT ARE THE AREAS OF ACTION?
Makagui will operate in three areas: entrepreneurship, leadership and financial intelligence.

It is necessary for young people to realize the importance of financial independence, which is not about making their own money, but about freeing themselves from working for money and making money work for them.
All of these areas are in some way interconnected and we will act on all of them in the Makagui journey.
WHAT IS THE MAKAGUI PURPOSE?
We have the purpose of existence, to contribute to the transformation of people’s lives, so that they can have a prosperous and happy life. We want to bring the Makagui to celebrate life, happiness and prosperity. Through Makagui, we will have the opportunity to share experiences, knowledge and knowledge, about different areas of life, transforming it.
In the area of entrepreneurship we want to develop the capacity of people, young people in particular, to undertake. What is this about undertaking or being an entrepreneur? We intend to develop a spirit of initiative, the ability to transform or create something that impacts people’s lives. With that in mind, we created the phrase Make it Happen, which means make it happen.
Entrepreneurship is not about starting a company, entrepreneurship is about creating something of value for people’s lives. An entrepreneur is one who is able to see a tree inside a seed.
We intend to focus on leadership with a purpose in life, to be the leader of your own path. Develop this notion, of the importance of making a difference, being a leader, changing paradigms. We want to establish the idea that being a leader is not being in power, but taking action. Our leadership phrase is Move Mountains, which means removing obstacles, this is what we expect from a leader.
The area of financial intelligence, which represents the construction of our wealth. If we don’t create wealth, we won’t be able to achieve a life of transformation. In Financial Intelligence, we have the phrase Mind your Wealth, which means taking care of wealth, planning, thinking about the future.
